A few months ago I was perusing the shelves of Sephora, as always, and came across the YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil collection. Usually I hear a ton about a product before it’s released, but I hadn’t heard anything about this new YSL formula. Intrigued by a formula that promised to be lightweight, deep conditioning, and provide color, I picked up 3 shades without batting an eyelash.

The YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil is a “revolutionary lip color with a lip tint suspended in a deep conditioning oil”. The formula is infused with a blend of apricot kernel oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, and possiflora edulis seed oil, to create a hydrating, ultra conditioning lip tint.

It’s no mystery, I love lipstick, but if you’ve been reading my blog for even a month, you know I don’t wear it on a daily basis. Lipstick does make me feel instantly fabulous, but it’s just not practical when I’m running around the city in sneakers and yoga pants. Even though I don’t wear lipstick on a daily basis, I do like to wear something on my lips for a little color and hydration. The YSL Volutpe Tint-In-Oil is the first product I’ve ever discovered that is my perfect in between product. It’s for those days I don’t want to simply wear a lip balm, yet I don’t want to commit to lipstick, but I need something more hydrating than a lip gloss. The Tint-In-Oil provides shine like a lip gloss, but it isn’t tacky, or heavy on the lips. The oil based consistency makes them effortless to apply, but they aren’t oily in the sense that you feel like the product is sliding off of your lips.

As far as pigmentation and color, the YSL Tint-In-Oil enhances your lip color, rather than providing full-coverage. The color payoff is quite minimal, but if you’re looking for an everyday natural color, like I prefer, they’re perfect.

Great review! I really want to try these lip glosses. I'm a huge fan of glossy stain and I think it'll be quick similar!

Thank you May! The formula is a bit sheerer than the Glossy Stains! xo

The applicator is interesting! I love how you styled the first photo with the empty candle!

I've been meaning to try these but wasn't sure if I was ready to drop the money since I hadn't heard a lot about it but I think you've convinced me!
